A Month with Clay

This workshop is open to anyone curious about clay — whether you’re completely new or already have some experience. You sign up one month at a time, with classes once a week for two hours. When the month is over, you can simply book again to continue.

The focus is on learning by doing. You’ll be introduced to the basics of hand-building — pinching, coiling, slab work — as well as how to use tools and handle clay. From there, you shape your own projects at your own pace. The teacher is there to demonstrate techniques, answer questions, and guide you when you need support, rather than following a fixed program.

A relaxed, creative space where you can return month after month to grow your skills and ideas in clay.

What is included

All tools, clay, firings, and glazing are included. Finished works will be ready for pickup about two weeks after your last class.

Practical information

Duration: 2 h0urs a week, four weeks of creativity

Location: Thorvald Mayers gate 45, Oslo

About your teacher:

I love hosting people — I want everyone to feel welcome, appreciated, and seen. My goal is to give attention and spread joy. Every time I prepare for a class, it feels like it’s my birthday. I clean the space, make coffee, prepare the tables and tools, ready the clay, and wait for guests to arrive.

Ceramics has become a way for me to communicate. In the studio, working with clay, I feel most true to myself. Through clay, I understand and connect with the world around me. That’s why I’m so happy to share it with others. I want to pass on my knowledge and show the endless possibilities within ceramic art— expression, technique, tactility, interaction — there’s so much to explore.

About Tigerkeramikk

Our workshop is small and cozy, with space for a maximum of 6 people, so there’s plenty of time for individual guidance and attention. The workshops are designed for both beginners and those with experience. In the beginning, I’ll introduce the technique we’ll be using, and then you’re free to dive into your endless imagination.

About the teacher:

I'm an Oslo-based artist working with ceramics, creating installations and sculptures that feel alive—casting shifting shadows and evolving over time. I see ceramics as a way to explore transformation and connection, reflecting how things grow, change, and endure in different environments. The surfaces of objects often become maps of emotions and memories, guiding us to places that are forgotten, imagined, or longed for. These sculptures are quiet reminders of life’s beauty and fragility—brief, delicate, and ever-changing.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Ceramic Art from the Vilnius Academy of Arts and studied as an exchange student at the Royal Danish Academy. After graduating, I spent a year as an intern at Glasgow Ceramics Studio, before completing my Master’s degree at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO). Since then, I’ve been exhibiting my work across Norway and Lithuania and have been honoured with various grants and scholarships supporting my artistic practice.
